The replica Heimløsa Rus

The scientific investigations of the Lapuri wreck gives all the time new information. This, together with our experience from the first ship, gave us the possibility to build a replica that corresponded more to the original. The boorished group of the project were not down-hearted by the misfortune with the first ship. Heimløsa Rus was launched 10.7.96

The ship was built in Finland on the island of Replot by Fredrik Koivusalo, Kurt Klavus, Runar Berg, Evert Nabb and Larry Knif. These persons were partners in the corporation Replotvikingarna, which owned the ship before it was sold to the Ostrobothnian Museum in 2001. In practice the member organization Rus-farers took care of the ship and the expeditions.
