• Boat sewing technique in Russia. Misha Naimark is keeping this interesting boat building technique living in Russia. The site holds a rather good owerwiew on the Russian technique of fastening planks by sewing.

• Fosen Folk High School, near Trondheim, in Norway, is a Folk High School with over 20 years experience of teaching building and sailing of square-sailed boats, and adherent practical craftsmanship.

• Handbook in Viking ship building. Contains some illustrated instructions in Swedish, made by Fotevikens Museum, Sweden. The instructions are based on reconstruction work of the Lapuri ship replica, which was initiated by Harry Alopeus and Fredrik Koivusalo in 1995.

• Institute for Ancient Technology. The Institute was founded in 1980, in Östersund, Sweden. It is an organization working with information, education, documentation and research concerning ancient technologies of the North European and Siberian areas.
  This is an unique Institute keeping a first rate web site with a great amount of practical information on the topic. There is an English introduction of the Institute but most articles are in Swedish. I warmly recommend this web site for those who are working with ancient technologies.

• Maritime Museum of Finland - A short representation including contacts.

• The Museum of Foteviken.

• Museum of shipbuilding at Kilen, Finland - History of shipbuilding, shipbuilders and ships of Sideby in Southern Ostrobothnia, Finland. Over 130 sailing vessels were built on the shipyards of Sideby between 1828-1920 (In Swedish).
  A well done site with an interesting literature reference list.

• The Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, Denmark - This Danish museum is world-famous for its experimental archaeology on Viking ships.

• The Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, Norway - Holds the famous Gokstad and Oseberg ships.

Replicas
• Ferskvandsmuseet in Ry in Denmark. - A replika project of a dug out find from Bjedstrup in Denmark (ca 450 AD).

• The Finnish Viking ship SOTKA. During the years 1997 - 1999 another group, in Helsinki, also built a replica of the Lapuri wreck with the support of the Helsinki Cultural Foundation. The ship has been sailing in the Helsinki region.

• Southwest Finland Institute for Art, Craft and Design in Mynämäki, Finland, started in 2004 to build a replica of the Lapuri wreck as part of their programme in Prehistoric Handicraft Techniques. The Rus-project supports the building by placing all its written and drawn material at their disposal.
